Traditional materials for thermoelectric such as bismuth telluride have been studied and utilized commercially for the last half century, but recent advancements in materials selection are one of the principal function of the active thermoelectric device as it determines the reliability of the fabrication regarding technical and economic aspects. Recently, many researcher's efforts have been made to utilize oxide nanomaterials for wearable thermoelectric power generator (WTPG) applications which may provide environmental stable, mechanical flexibility, and light weight with low cost of manufacturing. In precise, fabric containing oxide metals have shown great promise as P−/N-type materials with improved transport and UV shielding properties. On the other hand, we have focused on ZnO nanostructures as a high-efficiency WTPG material because they are non-toxic to skin, inexpensive and easy to obtain and possess attractive electronic properties, which means that they are available for clothing with low-cost fabrication. To our observation, we are chaptering about the thermoelectric properties of ZnO and their composite nanostructures coated cotton fabric via the solvothermal method for the first time.

The scopes of this research work are divided into four main parts. The work scope in this research begins with the design of the Interdigitated electrode (IDE). The mask will be designed by using AutoCAD software and the size of the mask must be in 100 nm. In the second scope, the fabrication and optimization of the Zinc Oxide nanowire based sensor is conducted though deposition of zinc oxide by using spin coating on the IDE electrode and etching method with suitable parameters. Intially, the zinc oxide wire is deposited and the nano wires are then grown vertically on the ZnO wire surface simultaneously. Next, the third scope, morphological characterize of the Zinc Oxide nanowire is conducted by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and high power microscopy (HPM) to ensure that the nanowire is grown is in correct orientation. Electrical characterization on the fabricated zinc oxide nanowire biosensor is conducted by current-voltage test, and resistivity test. This is to validate the electrical performances of the zinc oxide nanowire biosensor. Finally, validation of the fabricated zinc oxide nanowire biosensor performances on DNA binding is conducted via electrical measurement by using Semiconductor parametric analyzer (SPA) and IV-CV method. The selectivity and sensitivity of the biosensor device is also examined.
